How I came to write Pim
People often ask how I came to write Pim. It seems like a thousand years since I discovered Pim, or that Pim
discovered me. Thankfully I kept detailed notes and saved photos from that time. While I can’t swear to the
absolute accuracy of what you are about to read, I have done my best to capture the essence of how Pim entered my life.
The WDA’s plan was simple. He’d deposit the brain at Meg and Peg’s centre of operations as they waited for him at the airport, and be on his way.
Experiencing qualms about what might be waiting for him at Gatwick, the Well-Dressed Albatross exited the Lear 60 on final approach.
Airborne, the Well-Dressed Albatross found the mood so congenial in the Lear 60 that the stress attendant upon his impending rendezvous all but evaporated.
Slim restored the CCTV monitor at the exact moment the Well-Dressed Albatross boarded a Lear 60 that Meg and Peg had dispatched in order to return him to London.
Exploring the streets of Osaka, Pim and Bim narrowly missed Ukifune, Clive, and the Well-Dressed Albatross.
After hours of fun on water slides Pim and Bim read up on Sumo wrestling and traditional Japanese brush painting, things they were eager to explore during their stay.
You’ll be happy to learn that Pim and Bim had reconciled, gotten a last minute deal on a resort in Osaka, and were enjoying water slides, which I think you’ll agree is an ideal activity for the amphibious.
Slim soon learned that sabotaging Meg and Peg’s system had helped Ukifune and the Well-Dressed Albatross. Enraged at having been of accidental service to them, Slim’s characteristic malevolence swelled like a tumour.
After much deliberation Clive did choose to exit Camden Town 1977, and arrived in Osaka at 4:19 am some 40 years on and a few metres from Ukifune and the Well-Dressed Albatross.
